opens new facility in South Carolina July 17th 2004 – Coastal Moving & Storage celebrated the Grand Opening of its latest facility at 111 Atlas Ct. in Columbia, SC. The building is just the latest construction project for this 100-year-old family owned moving business. This warehouse is located on nearly 5 _ acres in the new I 77 business park area within Columbia’s city limits. The 40,000 sq ft facility allows Coastal to triple their storage capacity in the area and complements their other locations. Centrally located off of I-77 between I –26 and I-20 the company offers easy access for truckers along with a 70 ft scale on site. Less than 3 miles from Ft. Jackson and 38 miles from Shaw AFB. Coastal can services both bases with its military approval. “We have had a physical presence in the area for nearly three years”, stated Donnie Arpin, vice-president of the company, “but we quickly out grew our old building and decided to expand our capabilities”. “We have seen increases in COD, National Account, Office &Industrial and military domestic / international business since opening in Columbia. This construction was necessary in servicing our current and future customers”, he added. The company is family owned and operated by fourth generation movers and is preparing for the fifth. Having nearly 100 power units and 150,000 sq ft of storage capacity the company is committed to providing quality service in all facets of the relocation / moving industry. Each location has “training facilities” on site and all employees are required to obtain the skills necessary for all the services they provide.
